Marilyn Kay Neeman,
74, of Tulare, SD passed
away at Avera St. Luke’s
Hospital in Aberdeen, SD
on Sunday, May 29, 2022.
Visitation will be from
5:00 to 7:00 p.m., with a
prayer service to follow
at 7:00 p.m., on Thursday,
June 2, 2022, at Hyke Funeral
Home in Redfield.
Her memorial service will
be at 11:00 a.m. at Messiah
Lutheran Church on Friday,
June 3, 2022. Reverend
Kevin Moore will officiate.
After the service, lunch and
fellowship will follow in
the church basement.

On July 3, 1947, Marilyn
was born to Donald and
Margaret (Renner) Jockheck
in Huron, SD. She
lived on a farm north of
Bonilla, SD. She attended
school in Bonilla until
starting her senior year in
school at Hitchcock High
School. After graduating
from high school she
attended secretary school
in Huron and worked at the
Huron Hospital for a short
time. She later worked at
Valley Cleaners in Huron.
On January 26, 1969, she
married Ronald Neeman
in Bonilla and moved to
Puerto Rico to live, as he
was in the military. When
returning to the United
States they moved to
Tulare and she worked as
a cook at the café and also
at the Tulare School for
several years. Ron and
Marilyn were foster parents
for 43 years and fostered
more than 100 kids. She
was still a licensed foster
parent the day she died.
Marilyn was a person
who was loved by many
and always had a big heart
for children and animals.
She was a great cook and
loved to cook big meals for
her family. She will be remembered
for her sense of
humor. She spent her spare
time making diamond art
pictures and putting puzzles
She will be missed by her
husband of 53 years, and
her two sons, Ryan (Susan)
Neeman of Roseburg,
OR, and Sean Neeman of
Wallingford, CT. Marilyn
will also be missed by her
granddaughters: Jade Neeman,
Coral Krieger, Amber
Gurule, Kiersty Neeman,
and McKenna Neeman,
and her great-granddaughters:
Vanya Gurule, Vara
Gurule, Kyrie Krieger,
and Emma Martell; along
with the many children she
Marilyn was preceded in
death by her parents, and
her brother Marty Jockheck
