CANTON — Beginning on Sept. 2, traffic will be diverted onto the new concrete pavement on the west end of the U.S. Highway 18 project. The Highway 18 project is west of Canton. The diversion onto the new concrete is approximately 4 miles in length.
The traffic diversion will allow phase two of the project to begin, which includes concrete removal on sections of Highway 18. The removal work is part of a larger project to reconstruct Highway 18 into a four-lane divided highway from Interstate 29 to Canton.
The substantial completion date for this phase of the multi-year construction project is Nov. 15.
