Redfield FBLA Competes At State Conference

On April 7th the Redfield Future Business Leaders of America chapter, consisting of 30 students, traveled to Sioux Falls to participate in the Spring Leadership Conference.
Students could participate in individual or group events at the conference. Brooklyn Rische won the state vote for the office of historian. Chase Harr claimed the People’s Choice Award in the FBLA Talent Show.
First place winners included: Deven Fliehe, Cyber Security, and also Computer Problem Solving; Micah Zastrow, Introduction to Business Procedures; and Jadie Turner, Local Chapter Scrapbook.
Students that finished second were as follows: Kevin Weller, Insurance and Risk Management; Deven Fliehe, Word Processing; and Jadie Turner, Addi Stoner and Brooklyn Rische for Hospitality and Event Management group competition.

Third Place finishers were as follows: Grace Lemmer, Accounting I, and Hannah Lemmer, Digital Video Production.
Fourth place finishers were as follows: Keely Hawkins, Business Law and also Cyber Security, and Kevin Weller, Personal Finance.
There was also one 5th place finisher, Deven Fliehe - in Personal Finance.
Redfield also took 8th place in the chapter spelling ‘B’.
That team was made up of Alex Shottenkirk, Kevin Weller and Deven Fliehe.
In all, 18 awards were take home by Redfield students.
The students who placed in the top 3 in their group or individual event qualified for the National FBLA Leadership Conference in Orlando, FL in late June.
Advisor Tommy Gregg, who provided this information, said “I was very pleased with our showing at the Spring Leadership conference. It is always good to see students do their best and excel at the state level!”
