   Myrn Elizabeth (Brueggemann) Therkildsen, 98, of Redfield, SD, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at Community Memorial Hospital Avera in Redfield.  

   Visitation will be 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27, at the Eastern Star Chapel in Redfield.  Her memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Melissa Rowenhorst officiating.  For those attending, a face mask is required at the Eastern Star Home and all guests are asked to enter through the main door.  Myrn will be laid to rest in the spring at the Rockham Grace Cemetery in Rockham, SD.  

   Myrn's memorial service will be live-streamed on the funeral home's website below her obituary.  Hyke Funeral Home of Redfield (www.hykefuneralhome.com) has been entrusted with arrangements.

   Memorials may be directed to the Eastern Star Home (PO Box 150 - Redfield, SD - 57469) and the Rockham Grace Cemetery (c/o Tynan Anderson - 214 Illinois Ave. - Rockham, SD - 57470).

   Myrn was born to Walter and Mable Brueggemann in Redfield, SD on September 4, 1924. She grew up on a farm in northern Hand County near Rockham.  She attended East Linn country school and graduated from Redfield High School.

   Myrn married Bob Therkildsen on September 4,1944, which began a 72 year marriage. In addition to being a farmer’s wife, Myrn worked at stores in Rockham and Zell and at the James Valley Nursing Home before becoming the Postmaster at the Rockham Post Office.  Myrn loved flowers, gardening, ceramics, quilting, crafts, table games, as well as square dancing and traveling with Bob.  She had an infectious laugh and spread happiness to others.

   She is survived by fourteen nieces and nephews.

   She was preceded in death by her parents; husband bob; a sister, Floy Conkey; and a brother, Lynn Brueggemann.
