Although hopes were dashed for a "white Christmas" and not a snowflake was found on the ground on Christmas day of 2018, the day after Christmas blew in with a vengeance. The Dec.26th-27th snow storm scattered heavy snow, wind, and some freezing rain across South Dakota with the heaviest amounts of snow deposited in the central and northeast part of the state.
