   Richard Lawrence Mitchell, 78, of Dickinson ND formerly Isanti MN, passed away on March 27th at his home in Dickinson.

   Rick was born in Aberdeen SD to Robert S Mitchell Sr and Ann Brunn on Aug 21st, 1944. He married Sylvia Bebo on March 25th, 1967 In Aberdeen SD. Rick and Sylvia had two children, Marvin and Marnie.  Rick Later married Marlene Phillips on Sept 2nd, 1983 in Isanti Mn where they made their home for many years.

 Rick worked as a general contractor for many years. He went on the road driving truck in 1990. He loved his regular run to California and back to Minnesota every week. It allowed him to visit with family from California to Brentford to Sioux Falls and home. When the oil boom started in North Dakota he took up driving belly dump to help build the roads near Dickinson North Dakota. He loved Dickinson so much that he made his life there. He was an avid golfer, Hunter and bowler. He loved to bowl so much, that there was one day he was so proud that he had bowled 51 games in one day. In fact his license plates even said bowlmor.  His greatest joy in life was his grandchildren.

   Rick is survived by his Son Marvin R (Denise), Andrew, Alexandra and Colby Mitchell. His daughter Marnie, sons Sam, Matthew and Great Granddaughter Layla Michell. His Ex Wife Marlene, stepson Randy Phillips and his children Dylan and Heather, stepdaughter Julie (Lon) Lane and thier son Garrett. Brothers Bill (Vicki) Mitchell, Tom Mitchell, Brian Mitchell and Sisters Mary (Marion) Fortin, Kerry Laub Thackery and Julie Reff . Many many nieces, nephews and good friends.

   Rick is preceded in death by his parents, Sister Rita Vollmer, Brother Robert Jr and Grandson Nicholas Phillips. His beloved Grandparents Sam and Cora.

    Funeral services will be held at a later date in Rick's hometown of Brentford SD. A private burial will take place followed by a gathering and meal at Brentford Fire Hall.
