Lillian “Lil” was born on September 3, 1930, on the family farm near Carpenter, SD, to John M. and Mary (Wipf) Kleinsasser. She attended country school in Milford Township until they moved to Spink County in 1942. Lil attended 7th and 8th grade at Albrecht School. She graduated from Doland High School in 1948. Upon confession of her faith, she was baptized in 1947 and joined Ebenezer Church, which she attended faithfully. Lil worked in several cafes and grocery stores in Doland during high school and after graduation.

On April 16, 1949, she was married to Milford Woodfork. To this union, six daughters were born. She still worked outside the home. Due to Milford’s illness and early retirement, Lil had a daycare out of her home from 1978 to 1990 to care for her disabled husband. Milford passed away on April 21, 1990.

Lil enjoyed crafts: sewing “Cabbage Patch” Dolls, embroidering, making baby blankets, and mending clothes. She was a good cook and enjoyed canning. Lil loved to collect stuffed animals, shoes, and purses of which, she had an extensive collection. She loved watching the Minnesota Twins and Atlanta Braves baseball teams. Lil enjoyed thrifting at thrift stores and playing bingo. She would sing in the church choir and with the church Cantata.

Lil attended and became a member of the Doland Methodist Church and was a very active member. She sold tickets for Doland School activities from 1983 to 2013. Lil was also the Coordinator at Doland Senior Center from 1992 to 2015. In July of 1990, Lil moved to the Doland Apartment Complex, where she lived until moving to Wookey Assisted Living in Clark in July 2015.

She is survived by her daughters, Cleo (James) Parker, Fort Morgan, CO; Brenda Barrie, Garden City, KS; Janet (Norbert) Fortin, Watertown, SD; Karen (Brad) Walter, Garden City, KS; and Julie Woodfork, Sioux Falls, SD;  son-in-law Johnny Lindskov, Doland; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
