KQKD SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE

KQKD 1380 AM and 99.9 FM, Redfield and Spink County’s Full Service radio station recently teamed up with Haider Construction, RDO Equipment Co., The Redfield Area Chamber of Commerce, Wild Roots Marketplace, Agtegra Cooperative, Subway, Dairy Queen and Kens Super Fair Foods for the KQ1380 Haider Construction School Supply Drive.

James Shaman-General Manager and morning host at KQ1380 got the idea of having the school supply drive from a former co-worker.  “It was a huge success in Iowa and I thought that we could do the same here in Redfield”, said Shaman.  “We had drop off locations at Agtegra in Tulare, Agtegra on E. 3rd here in Redfield, RDO Equipment, Wild Roots Marketplace, the Redfield Carnegie Library and just outside our studio in the Main Street Office Plaza.  We asked our listeners to help out in any way they could.”

James and KQKD Sales Manager Traci Samelson delivered the full totes to the school.  “The school was willing to help us distribute the supplies to the kids that need them the most” said Sameleson.  “It was really exciting to go pick up the totes and see the generosity of the people in our community.  I can’t wait to see how much bigger we make it next year.”

Shaman added, “next year we hope to expand the drive to include more communities within our coverage area.”  KQKD Radio can be heard for nearly 100 miles in all directions on the AM side of the dial.
