JERALDINE ‘JERI’ HAAR 

 

   Jeraldine Elizabeth Haar went to be with the Lord on December 26, 2023. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 30th at 10am at Trinity Lutheran Church in Aberdeen, SD.  Visitation will be Friday, December 29th, from 3pm-7pm at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home in Aberdeen.  The Nurse’s Tribute will be done at 6:30pm on Friday.   

   Jeraldine (Jeri) was born on November 10, 1946 to Willard and Lucille (Miller) Way in Redfield, SD.  Jeri was one of 10 children. She married Armond Harley Haar on October 8, 1963 in Roscoe, SD.  While residing there they had two daughters, Lisa Kathleen and Patricia Lea. In the spring of 1965, they moved to the farm east of Ashton. At this time they had a son, Christopher Armond. Jeri was a 4-H Leader and baseball coach while her children were involved.  She also played softball. Jeri and Armond purchased and ran the Ashton Bar from 1980-1982. Jeri helped on the farm as well as being a dispatcher at the Redfield Police Department. She also worked at the hospital as well as the nursing homes in Redfield. This is where she decided to be a nurse.  Jeri graduated with an Associate of Science Degree in Nursing from Presentation College in May of 1982. After graduating Jeri worked at Dakota Midland Hospital, SD Development Center, Brown County Health, and with the SD Department of Health until her retirement in 2011. 

   Jeraldine is survived by her children Lisa (Scot) Gohl, Patricia (John) Sperry, and Christopher (Laura) Haar. Grandchildren Leah Haar (Fiancé Bradley Rossow), Olivia Gohl, Nick (Jordynne) Sperry, Alex Sperry, Cecelia Wiederrich and Reagan Haar. Great Grandchildren Chace Haar and Layton Haar. Brothers, sisters and in-laws, Judy Goethe, Joann Junger, Jane Campbell, Janet Gruenwald, Dianna Way, Betty Haar, Ruthie Wieg, Arnold (Nit) Haar, and Phyllis Haar. Jeraldine is also survived by Her Boys, George and Fred. 

   Jeraldine is proceeded in death by her husband of 58 years, Armond Haar, Parents Willard and Lucille Way Sr, Erhard and Anna Haar, Sibling and In-laws Jean Scott, Joseph Way, John Way, Rick Goethe, Janice (Bernard) Jungwirth, Frank Junger, John Campbell, Francis Gruenwald , Dorothy (Victor) Schlomer, and Gilbert Haar.
