Jean Deanna (Linder) Reineccius, of Mora, passed away at 5:06 am on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at the St. Clare Living Community in Mora. She was 81 years old.
Jean Deanna Linder was born August 13, 1943, in Rush City to Leonard and Cecilia (Swedeen) Linder. She was the youngest of six and a full Swede. She grew up near Walbo where she attended school.
At 16, Jean married John Alan Reineccius. They wed on September 26, 1959, in Calvary Lutheran Church in Rush Point and were happily married for 58 years. They lived in several places around central Minnesota before settling in Henriette. They lived in their Henriette home for more than 35 years, raising their four children and later enjoying their 11 grandchildren.
Jean was a fire lookout in Cambridge for a time before going to Anoka-Ramsey Community College and earning a degree in nursing. She had a 21-year career as an LPN at Cambridge Medical Center until her retirement. She and John moved to Redfield, SD in 2003 where they remained until John passed away. A couple of years later, Jean sold their home and moved to Isle where she stayed until relocating to Mora last year.
In her spare time, Jean was in a bowling league, went on family road trips, spent many days at "The Shack," traveled to threshing shows, dabbled in the Red Hat Society, played Pinochle, and enjoyed reading and doing word searches.
Her family will remember her as a warm, loving woman with a gift for making them feel special. Jean never missed a birthday, always remembered their favorite foods, and loved to give gifts for no reason. She was the definition of unconditional love, leaving an indelible mark on each and every one of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She smelled like joy and her hugs were heaven. She was a treasure never to be forgotten.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Dana Reineccius; her infant great-grandson, Marshall Krona; two brothers and two sisters.
Jean is survived by her son, Daniel (Jean) Reineccius of Hibbing; two daughters, Denise Harms of Mora and Diana (Donny) Soderquist of Redfield, SD; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and sister Willette Engstrom of Placerville, CA; and many other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service was held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at the Hamilton Funeral Homes- Akkerman Chapel in Mora. A Private Family Inurnment will be held in the summer of 2025 at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Redfield, South Dakota. Arrangements were entrusted to the Hamilton Funeral Homes - Akkerman Chapel in Mora.
