Jason was born in Redfield, SD, on May 3, 1975, to Craig and Susan (Ryman) Muellenberg.  He attended Northwestern Public School, enjoying football before graduating in 1994.

Jason then continued his education at Mitchell Technical Institute, pursuing a degree in Gas Technology.

Over the years, Jason worked for MidAmerican Energy as a Gas Technician.  Jason was a well-respected colleague, and he created many lifelong friends and relationships through his work.

Jason loved his lifelong canine companions, Jake and Duke.  They were his family and he loved them very much.

Jason had an avid love for hunting in his early years.  His passion continued in football, as well.  You could always find Jason watching the games on Sundays.  Later in life, a love of Harley Davidson and Nascar grew deep and then he would flip channels between games and races on the weekends.  Jason was fortunate enough to be able to attend some NFL games, Nascar races, and several trips to Sturgis during bike rally week, every August.  He was very fond of his time at the rally and enjoyed his rally family very much.

Jason worked hard so he could play hard.  He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  Camping, ATV riding, fishing, golfing, and helping others with projects were all things Jason enjoyed.

Grateful for having shared in Jason’s life are his daughters, Mackenzie Groft of Sheldon, IA and her son: Kingzlee; and Emilee Spangler of Vermillion, SD; his mother, Susan Muellenberg of Redfield; his brother, Matthew (Jessica) Muellenberg of Redfield, SD and their children: Riley, Mason, Karlie, and Kevin; his brother, Joshua Muellenberg of Clifton, CO; and his sister, Amanda Muellenberg of Redfield, SD and her children: Jaden (Amanda) and Kadi; his grandmother, Bonita Johnson (Maurey) of Yankton, SD; his grandfather, Ken Johnson of Yankton, SD; his special friend, Tanya Wolfe of Northwood, ND; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Craig Muellenberg; his grandparents, Edward and Joyce Muellenberg; and his grandfather, Larry (Donna) Ryman.
