Irita Ann (Cleberg) Hubbard, 92 of Meridian ID passed away peacefully in her home on April, 9, 2025 surrounded by her family.

Irita Cleberg was born December 31, 1932 on the family farm in Hitchcock South Dakota to Francis and Isabelle (Esser) Cleberg.  Irita is the second oldest of 15 children.  She lived on the Cleberg farm in Redfield South Dakota.  She attended country school, Sharp school, and Redfield High School.  She left school to take care of her mom and siblings.  She attended St. Mary’s Nursing School in 1950 and graduated in 1951 with her LPN.  She married the love of her life, Fredrick L Hubbard, in 1952 and had three children: Rebecca, Fredrick, and Charles.  They lived in Tulsa OK, and she worked for Dr. Perry, and St. Francis Hospital.  Fred got ill and died in 1972.  She moved to Redfield SD and then to Aberdeen SD.  She attended Presentation College and got her RN, graduating in 1977.  She married Robert J. Herschman in 1975 and had a son, Gregory Herschman, in 1976.  The family moved to Camano Island WA, in 1977 where she raised her family.  Irita worked at Everett General Hospital from 1977 to 1996 as an RN.  Robert died in 2000, after which she moved to Meridian ID in 2005.

Irita is survived by siblings: Bonnie (Del), Ardis, Joseph (Kathy), Mary Lou (Phil), Anthony (Brenda), Madonna (Roger); children: Rebecca (Paul) Sharratt, Fred Hubbard, Charles Hubbard, and Greg (April) Herschman; children of her heart: Larry (Sandy) Watt, and Connie (Kevin) Carson; grandchildren: Russell, Megan, John Paul, Isabella, Cory (Ericka), and Jordan (Alyssa); 5 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law: Sheila Lyons and over 70 nieces and nephews which she loved so much.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 7 brothers, 1 sister, 2 husbands, Fred and Robert, and her grandson, Steven.

Irita wants to thank her son, Charles, for taking care of her, he was her best friend.  She was the best mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend. She loved her children so very much.

Services will be held on Thursday, May 1st at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 6300 N. Meridian Rd, Meridian.  Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 10 AM with the Funeral Mass to follow at 11 AM.  Services are under the care of Accent Funeral Home and Cremation.
