Doris (Gange) Schmidt, 73, of Aberdeen, SD passed away November 24, 2024 after a long struggle with cancer.
She was born to Lawrence and Edith (Barton) Gange on April 22, 1951 in Aberdeen, SD. She grew up in Mellette, SD and attended the Northwestern School.
Doris lived and worked in Aberdeen where she met the love of her life, Paul Schmidt. The were married on July 17, 2001. They enjoyed dancing and spending time with family.
Though she never had children of her own; she loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own.
Grateful for having shared Doris’ life are her two sisters, Betty (Jerry) Akin and Ethel Hammer; nieces and nephews, Renee Koons, Scott Reiss, Ryan Akin, Kayla Buchanan, Derek Gange, Danielle Hopkins, Nicole Henjum, Jessica Henjum, Sterne Akin, Courtney Akin; and many great nieces and nephews, Heather, Jeremy, Tyler, Connor, Alivia, Latham, Elliott, Lennon, Hadley, Weston, and Lillian.
Preceding Doris in death are her parents; brother, Donnie Gange; sister-in-law, Diane Gange; and brother-in-law, Myron Hammer.
