Daniel Patrick Sattler was born December 11, 1984, in Redfield, SD, to Lonnie and Lori (Whitley) Sattler. He attended RHS and graduated in 2003 and went on to Mitchell Vo-Tech where he completed his degree in Electrical Construction & Maintenance. In June 2006, Dan moved to Bakersfield, CA after taking a job with Braun Electric. Dan married Kelly Freeman in 2012 and had two amazing children, Danika and Kelten. Following their split, Dan married Melissa Diedrich in Nov. of 2022 at the Ventura Courthouse and built a beautiful, blended family. A couple of months following, Dan adopted Chase and Kaia, completing their family unit. The following months and years have been filled with much love, happiness, and laughter.
Dan loved his family first and foremost but could also be found hanging out with friends listening to music and having a few cold ones. He will always be remembered for his huge smile and easy-going personality. He enjoyed pheasant hunting in South Dakota, fishing, riding his Harley, and during the football season, cheering on his favorite NFL team, the Minnesota Vikings. Dan worked in the North Dakota oil fields for 3 week hitches and then flew home to California for the next 3 weeks to be with his family. He could then be found cheering the kids on at their school and sport events.
Daniel is survived by his children Danika and Kelten of Simi Valley, CA; wife Melissa of Moorpark, CA, and children Chase, Kaia (Matthew) Clays and their children Miles and Dean of California; parents Lonnie and Lori; siblings: Casi (David) O’Daniel and children Kiara and Tristen, Ryan (Kellie) and children Dalton, Emersen, Ainslee, and Kaidence, Matthew (Kasandra) and children Mason, Kamden, Penelope, and Natalee, Sara, and Seth, all of Redfield; grandmothers: Beverly Ann Whitley of Redfield and Diane Sattler of Sioux Falls, SD; along with other family and close friends.
