The Redfield FCCLA raised funds during the Dodgeball for Diabetes Awareness Tournament that was held November 16th and presented a check to Nancy Hartung with Camp Gilbert. With all the donations from area business, team registrations, concessions and the 50/50 drawing, Camp Gilbert received a $1,000 donation! This amount will impact the lives of 4-5 families being able to send their Type 1 diabetic son or daughter to the week-long camp being held in June 2019.
Camp Gilbert welcomes more than 100 campers with Type 1 Diabetes between the ages of 8 and 18 years for 1 week each summer. Camp Gilbert has been held at NeSoDak Camp on Lake Enemy Swim each summer for 25 years and is one of the few camps in the country that welcomes high school age kids too.
