A lot of “funny money” was circulating through Northville’s old school on Sat., April 12th. The old gym came alive for the annual Casino Night fundraiser. About 200 people in total attended the event, which was put on by the Northville Community Association.
The evening began with an all-ages meal. Over 100 people were fed. After 8 p.m., the event was 21+. Attendees filled seats around various game tables.
The Craps table was crowded, though no one was quite able to explain just what the rules were. Five tables were set up for Blackjack games. Bingo tables were located atop the stage. There was a drawing for a rifle. A numbered wheel was used for raffle drawings.
Real money was used to purchase “funny money.” Remaining “funny money” could be used for chance tickets. These tickets were put in pots for several prizes. The donated prize packs were on display. They ranged from dog toys to household items to outdoor equipment.
The old gym is primarily used for elementary volleyball and basketball, or for a practice space before games. There’s also Sunday night pickleball for adults.
