Betty Ann (Ihnen) Reynolds, 79, of Redfield, SD, passed away Sunday, September 17, 2023, at Community Memorial Hospital Avera in Redfield. 

Her memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 27, at Redfield Wesleyan Church, with Pastor Adrian Timmons officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Redfield.  After the committal service, lunch will be served in the church hall.

Betty was born June 21, 1944, in Turner County to Luverne and Helen (Buus) Ihnen.  She spent part of her childhood on a farm north of Parker, SD.  She attended Parker School.

On April 16, 1961, she married Jack Reynolds in Beresford, SD, and to this union, three children were born.  Betty became a full-time housewife.  Later, they moved to Redfield and Betty babysat for 18 years.  She later began working at the local hospital in housekeeping.  The staff said she went above and beyond.  She enjoyed her work and the camaraderie with the staff.

Family and friends were very important to Betty, and she looked forward to their visits.  She enjoyed crocheting, her flowers, and a small garden.  She loved the outdoors and would spend hours tending the lawn.  She enjoyed crafts and painting lawn ornaments and rocks. 

Betty was a member of the Wesleyan Church, where she taught Sunday School.

Betty is survived by her loving husband Jack of Redfield, and children:  Randy (Julie) Reynolds of Seabrook, TX, Terry (Becky) Reynolds of Luverne, MN, and Lana Reynolds of Redfield.  She is also survived by her grandchildren: Kyle (fiancé Grace) of Luverne, MN and Keegan of Seabrook, TX; great-grandchild Raven of Luverne, MN; brothers: Dwane (Sharon) Ihnen of Lincoln, NE, Gary Ihnen of Midpines, CA, Robert (Melissa) Ihnen of Marion, SD; sisters:  Dianna Ihnen of Wakonda, SD, Sharon Petit of Sioux Falls, SD, Marlene Gross of Wakonda, SD, Verna (Randy Micka) Bourassa of Sioux Falls, SD, Cindy (Mark) Bailey of Watertown, SD; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, parents-in-law, two sisters, one sister-in-law, and four brothers-in-law.
