Three men brought into courthouse on burglary charges

On August 26th, 2019 three defendants appeared in hand cuffs from police custody at the Spink County Court Room. Wyatt Erickson was charged with committing 2nd degree burglary which is a class 3 felony and punishable by up to 15 years in prison and a $33,000 fine. He pled guilty to the crime that took place on or about May 25th of 2019 at a Mellette, SD home where he was successful in stealing fishing equipment. His sentencing will be at a later date.
In connection with a crime that happened on or about March 24th of 2019 near Tulare, SD, Bradley Bruns, Junior and Trever Stas appeared on charges of Grand Theft, a class 4 felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison along with a $20,000 fine and 3rd degree burglary which is a class 5 felony and punishable by up to 5 years in prison with a $10,000 fine. Bradley Bruns, Junior was granted a PR Bond although there are pending charges against him in Hand County for possession of drug paraphernalia and substance. Trever Stas is facing additional felony charges in Beadle County and was not granted release. He was remanded back into Beadle County police custody. Both defendants were issued a no-contact order for the victims of the burglary and an additional person involved.
