Spink County Commissioners proclaim April 3, 2018 as National Service Recognition Day

At the Spink County Commission meeting held on March 20, 2018, Volunteers of America, Dakotas Senior Corps staff, RSVP volunteers, Foster Grandparents and a member of the RSVP/FGP Advisory Council were presented with a proclamation announcing April 3, 2018 as National Service Recognition Day in Spink County.  National service represents a unique public-private partnership that invests in community solutions and leverages non-federal resources to strengthen community impact and increase the return on taxpayer dollars.  National Service Recognition Day is an effort to recognize the positive impact of national service, thank those who serve, and to encourage citizens to give back.  The effort is sponsored by the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), the National Association of Counties, the National League of Cities and Cities of Service.

Taking part in the proclamation:  Front row: County Commissioners Cindy Schultz, Jeff Albrecht, Suzanne Smith and Dave Albrecht and Auditor Theresa Hodges.  Back row: RSVP Specialist Kathy Wolf, Advisory Council Member Gerri Schutte, FGP Specialist Juli Schultz, Foster Grandma Mary Ann Kenny, RSVP volunteer Caroline Lambert, Foster Grandma Barbara Lutz and Senior Corps Assistant Director Cindy Beard.

While in town we snapped this photo of Grandma Mary Ann having fun with the pre-school class!
