The evening began at 6pm with Marie Weller, FCCLA Dodgeball Chairperson, welcoming everyone and singing the National Anthem. Then Rosanne Lemmer educated the crowd on all the people in the community that are affected by one person being diagnosed by Type 1 Diabetes. There were nine teams and we played double elimination games. The teams were Middle School and High School teams with the Elementary Teachers, the Educated Ballerz, being the lone adult team this year. There were several close matches between all the teams with Aaron Lonneman announcing and reading Diabetic facts between the games. Referees Tristian Lechner and Marie Weller kept the games fair with The Standard Americans coming out on top this year. For the winning team, Appel’s Quick Stop donated 3 pizza’s and a 12-pack of pop. There was also a 50/50 raffle and Eve Millar won and donated the money back to Camp Gilbert.
The Redfield FCCLA wishes to thank everyone for their support of the Dodgeball for Diabetes Tournament this year and we hope to see you all next year!
