South Dakota American Legion Auxiliary Clay Kiser Unit 92 Redfield, SD presented Americanism Essay Contest winners with certificates and monetary rewards. The theme this year was “How can we address the health and well-being of our veterans, military, and their Families?”.
Nancy Carter and Marlene Eimers presented the High School awards on May 5th during the High School Recognition Program. Local winners were first - senior Bradyn Robbins, second - senior Tobin Esser, third - junior Frakeithus Robinson, and honorable mention - junior Cameron Schmidt. Brayden Robbins received a second place award for his essay at the regional level.
Friday May 21st Marlene Eimers presented the grade school and middle school awards to the students placing at the local level. Winners in Class I (grades 3 & 4) were first - Breanna Larson grade 4, second - Braylen Williams grade 4, and third - Ainsley Appel grade 4. Winners in Class II (grades 5 & 6) were first - Aleah Bebo grade 6,second - Tia Esser grade 6, third - Amiya White Grade 6, and honorable mention – Mikayla Schaffer.
The Redfield American Legion Auxiliary would like to thank the following teachers for participating in the essay contest: Cassie Beckett, Cassandra Bottum, Joe Olivier, Rachel Waldner, and Joel Osborn. The Auxiliary looks forward to working with you again next year.
