Rex Spear appeared in court Monday morning with his attorney and entered "not guilty" pleas to cruelty to animals, which is a class six felony punishable by two years in prison or a $10,000 fine, or both. He also pled not guilty to neglect or abandonment of animals which is a class one misdemeanor. Mr. Spear has requested a jury trial. He is accused of these crimes against animals from an incident that took place June 28th 2017. The Redfield Press will be following this story and keep you up to date as it happens.
