Redfield students raise money for severely injured Britton-Hecla football player

Staff report

During the week of October 28th through November 1st, the Redfield Middle School and High School will have “hat days” (in which students can pay $1 to wear a hat for the day) set up daily to raise money for Trevor Zuehlke, a Britton-Hecla football player who sustained a severe brain injury in a football game on October 18th.  According to the family’s report, scans show bleeding on his brain and he is currently still heavily sedated, but his family hopes to wean back on the sedation this week.

During Monday night’s home volleyball game on October 28th versus Wolsey-Wessington, Jaxon Frankenstein and Isaac Suchor, of Redfield, led Zuehlke’s “Miracle Minute.” They gathered a group of high school students together, put a minute on the clock, and ran through both team’s crowds to collect as much money as they could in 60 seconds after the varsity volleyball match.
