Groton Locke Electric battled the Northville Merchants on the Tuesday game. Groton topped the Merchants 12 to 9. Greg Heyne had three base hits and four runs batted in for Northville. Heath Geidt had four hits and Adam Herman had two hits for Groton. With the win, Groton faced the Pheasants on Wednesday. Groton jumped out to a quick 2 to 0 lead in the first inning on 2 hits and a Redfield error. The score stayed that way until the bottom of the third. The Pheasants sent 17 batters to the plate that inning, scoring 13 runs on four hits, four Groton errors, and three walks. Groton would manage to score three runs in the top of the fifth inning, but the Pheasants responded with five more runs in the bottom of the inning on three more hits, as the score read 18 to 5 after five innings. The Pheasants would add one more run in the sixth inning, as Drew Dickhaut would take a shot over the right-center field fence. Groton would add a run in the seventh, with the final score of 19 to 6. The leading hitters for the Pheasants were Mitch Babcock, Sutton Masat, and Levi Logan, as they each collected two hits. Justin Link threw all seven innings, allowing four earned runs on eight hits. The Friday evening game would have Groton playing Northville again, with the winner advancing to the State Tournament in Mitchell and a chance to win the District Championship. Northville prevailed with a 10 to 6 victory. The score was tied four to four after 6 ½ innings, but Northville would score three runs in both the seventh and eighth inning to secure the win. With the win the Merchants would battle the Pheasants for the District 2B Championship.  The Pheasants dominated the game and registered a 15 to 0 victory in six innings. The Pheasants scored in every inning, except the second. Levi Logan, Jesse Babcock, and Kaleb Rodgers all had three hits in the game, while Mitch Babcock and Sutton Masat both had two hits. Christian Christianson threw all six innings, allowing a single hit to Isaac Baur. With the victory the Redfield Pheasants claimed their third consecutive District Championship.
