On Tuesday, May 9, the Redfield Elementary Student Council donated $130 worth of personal hygiene products to the Good Samaritan Center.
Funds were raised for the donation after the council got approval to charge students $1 to wear shorts a day earlier than the school handbook allows. The student council bought shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothpaste, deodorant, soap, and other personal hygiene products from Dollar general.
"The Elementary Student Council started this project last year and the kids had so much fun shopping and had wonderful feedback from the community, we decided to try and make it an annual event," Elementary Council advisor Tracy Schutte said.
