On Aril 24th at 5:30 pm the Clay Kiser Unit 92 of the American Legion Auxiliary in Redfield held its meeting at the Redfield 4th grade classroom. Parents, auxiliary members, 4th grade teachers, and several interested students attended to listen to the students present their winning essays. The auxiliary served ice cream sundaes to the students and their guests at the end of the readings.
The winning essays at the local level in Class 1 Grade 4 & 5 were: 1st Teige Harms-Lewis, 2nd Jadie Turner, and 3rd Jadie Nelson. At the local level in Class VI Grade 4 & 5 the winning essays were: 1st Markus Whitley and 2nd Rodney Conica. The students earned $25 for 1st place, $15 for 2nd place and $10 for 3rd place at the local level. Two students went on to win at the District level. In Class I Teige Harms-Lewis received 2nd and Markus Whitley received 2 in the Class VI. The students are in Mrs. Edgar’s and Mrs. Eimers’ rooms. A special thank you to Mrs. Richter and Miss Bottum for helping with the essays.
