REDFIELD, S.D. (July 25, 2017) – Rick Avery, Lead Parts Specialist at RDO Equipment Co. in Redfield, is celebrating his 45-year anniversary at the store. In recognition of his years of dedication to the community, RDO Equipment Co. employees, along with customers and family members, gathered at the store to honor Avery and acknowledge his milestone.

After studying to be an airplane mechanic and with several years of experience working with agricultural equipment, Avery joined the Redfield store in 1972. His first position included a variety of tasks, from setting up machines to various equipment repairs. He quickly transitioned into a parts role, then was promoted to Parts Manager in 1978. In 2010, he took on his current role of Lead Parts Specialist, where he enjoys working with RDO Equipment Co. customers, many of whom he considers friends.

When asked what has kept him at the store for 45 years, Avery said it’s mainly a combination of two things – customers and the company. “It’s great to work with customers and I enjoy interacting with them every day,” he said. “And it’s also important to work for a company that supports employees and customers. RDO has been a great company to work for.”

Clae Hoots, Store Manager, commented on the significance of Avery’s 45 years at the Redfield store, saying, “Rick’s commitment to our stakeholders make him a tremendous asset to our team and organization. It has been a privilege and honor to work with and learn from him, and I know many team members feel the same way I do.”
