Pool to remain closed throughout the summer, Fourth of July parade still on

By Shiloh Appel

During the Monday, June 1st meeting of the Redfield City Council via teleconference, it was decided by the City of Redfield to keep the pool closed this year due to the pandemic. Some of the precautions that would need to be followed in order to open the pool, such as  allowing only 30 patrons in at a time, keeping patrons six feet apart, and thoroughly sanitizing the pool every two hours, were not feasible.

Meanwhile, after discussing July Fourth activities, the council decided to still hold the Fourth of July parade, but eliminate all Fourth of July events usually held in the city park and the throwing of candy from parade floats. As of yet, the Fourth of July fireworks show is still a go.
