Mary Poppins coming to Redfield High School

Mary Poppins coming to Redfield High School

The entire cast and crew of our productions consists of volunteers who have sacrificed a significant amount of time to prepare for the performance. Mary Poppins blows into the Redfield High School Auditorium on March 2, 3 & 4.

We’ve introduced only a spoonful of the cast, so let’s meet the rest of the characters. The Banks’ maid (Mrs. Brill) and assistant (Robertson Ay) are played by Gwen Johnson and Ethan Carr. The very strict Miss Andrew will be portrayed by Wendy Owens. Hailie Stuck, Macy Fliehe and Breanna Roth will play the parts of Police/Park Keeper, Neleus and Valentine. Miss Lark & Admiral Boom will be Cassie Metzinger and Henry Williams. The Bank Chairman and Mr. Northbrook will be played by Henry Weller and David Kastner. Lisa Johnson, Sarah Kastner and Michelle Stuck will portray the Bird Woman, Mrs. Corry and Katie Nanna.

Other Cast members include Abigail Taylor, Lilly Blume, Kiara Stuck, Emmylea Robeson, Rian Gehring, Terri Roth, Marly Kendrick, Jade Jensen, Eva Rindelaub, Camryn Nelson, Autumn Olsen and Karena Schultz. Most if not all of the people listed will play a number of different characters such as park goers, toys, kite flyers, chimney sweeps and store customers. These are often some of the most fun roles to have.

Designing the costumes for Mary Poppins will once again fall into the very capable hands of Michelle Spicer-Schmitt. Every year she does a fantastic job of fitting the characters to the correct costume. Our producers this year are Kari Lemmer and Rosanne Lemmer. If the cast or crew has any questions these are the two that we turn to.

The set of any production has the power to make or break a show. Each set's requirements can be vastly different and because of that creation of the set is likely one of the largest undertakings in any production and the set for Mary Poppins will be no different. Nate Stuck has been the mastermind of constructing sets with the design work of his wife Michelle. We are very fortunate to have such a creative couple. Of course once the set is built, it will need to be painted. Cassie Metzinger is our artistic genius. With the assistance of many cast members, the different set pieces will be transformed in time for the production. If you are handy with a hammer, drill or painting and would like to offer assistance, get in touch with Michelle Stuck @ (605) 228-4253 or Ray Johnson @ (605) 499-8026.
