SD.

Marlyn Frances Francoli,
92, of Harrisburg, SD
and formerly of Mellette,
SD, passed away Saturday
April 30, 2022, at
the Dougherty Hospice
House in Sioux Falls,
SD. Her visitation will
be from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
on Friday, May 6 at All
Saints Catholic Church in
Mellette. A prayer service
and rosary will begin at
7:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial
will be at 10:30 a.m. on
Saturday, May 7, at All
Saints Catholic Church
in Mellette. Interment
will follow at the Calvary
Cemetery. Reverend
John Short will officiate.

Marlyn was born in April
1930 to Edward and Frances
(Spink) Braun and
she celebrated 92 years of
life. She graduated from
Mellette High School and
attended college at the
Aberdeen School of Commerce.
She worked at
various jobs, her last job
prior to marriage was at
the 1st National Bank in
Redfield as a bookkeeper.
She married John Francoli
on May 27, 1958, at All
Saints Catholic Church in
Mellette. They had three
children: Janell (Dan)
Eggers of Harrisburg,
Marty Francoli of Mellette,
and Scott Francoli
of Aberdeen, SD.
She was a member of All
Saints Catholic Church
as well as the Altar
Society. She enjoyed
playing cards, doing word
searches, watching sports,
and was an avid Chinese
checkers player. Marlyn
was a farmwife and
worked on the farm doing
everything from herding
and working cattle,
cutting silage, and driving
truck. She loved running
the combine during
harvest time. She always
sacrificed for her family.
She was a fantastic cook
and enjoyed making everyone’s
favorite meals.
For the past two years,
Marlyn and John have
lived in Harrisburg with
their daughter Janell and
her family. All Marlyn’s
family is grateful for the
time shared together and
blessed for the many special
memories made.
Marlyn will be greatly
missed by her husband
of 63 years, John; daughter
Janell (Dan) Eggers;
sons: Marty and Scott;
and grandchildren: Jonah
(Kaylee) Eggers and Rachel
(fiance Austin Haak)
Eggers. She is also survived
by her sister-in-law
Erlaine Braun; nephews:
LeRoy (Joy) Braun, John
(Natalie) Braun, Doug
(Laura) Braun, John
(Stephanie) Heber; nieces:
Cathy (Don) Ohlen,
Debra (Luther) Larson,
Colleen Braun, and Betty
(and the late Leo) Naber;
and friend of the family,
Kim Cavanaugh.
She was preceded in death
by her parents Edward
and Frances Braun, brother
Raymond Braun, sisterin-
law Rosemary (Joe)
Heber; and nieces: Teresa
Braun, Suzy Braun, and
Mary Ann Roth.
