A graveside service with military honors will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 4, 2022, at the Miranda Cemetery, Miranda, SD.
Linda Kay Jackson was born in Aberdeen, South Dakota on August 25, 1954 to Gerald Lee and Marian O. (McNeely) Jackson. She attended school in Custer and Rapid City, SD. She earned a Business Degree from the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs.
Linda proudly served our country in the United States Air Force for twenty years as an Administration Specialist. After her retirement, she loved spending time with family and traveling. Linda was a member of the Faulkton, South Dakota VFW Auxiliary and the American Legion. She was a member of Cross Fellowship Church in Black Forest where she was involved in the Faithful, Available and Teachable (FAT) Life Group, various Bible Studies and Busy Hands. When things got to where it was hard for her to attend church, her Life Group came to her and met in her barn so that when she felt like it, she could attend and she rarely missed.
Survivors include her husband Bill Batson; daughters Lisa (Tom) Ethridge of Miranda, SD; Sheila Johnson of Aberdeen, SD; Sarah (Erik) Keener of Colorado Springs, CO; Amy Batson of Colorado Springs, CO; sons Matt Batson of Navarre, FL and Andrew Batson of Antioch, TN; sisters Barbie (Ken) Slavens of Star, ID and Carol (Rusty) Parriott of Woodbury, TN; four grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother David Jackson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the University of Colorado Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship program or to Pikes Peak Hospice.
“Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised.” Hebrews 10:35-36 (NASB)
