The South Dakota Football Coaches Association has announced its academic all-state team for the recently completed 2018 season. To be named to the team, players must be seniors with three years of playing or managing time and have a GPA of 3.5 or better.

Frost and Masat named to academic all-state football team



The South Dakota Football Coaches Association has announced its academic all-state team for the recently completed 2018 season. To be named to the team, players must be seniors with three years of playing or managing time and have a GPA of 3.5 or better.

Area honorees from Class 11B were Trevor Frost and Drew Masat from Redfield-Doland; Alexis Simon from Groton; Isaac Olson, Jimmy Richards, Tucson Freeman and Braxton Albers from Mobridge-Pollock; and Brady Morgan, Salesi Mounga and Brandon Fauth from Aberdeen Roncalli.
Class 9AA selections included Nick Brandner, Chase Hatlesick and Carson Kunz from North Border; Parker Roerig and Ethan Ninke of Webster; and Lucas Breske of Dakota Hills.
Players from Class 9A include Jory Flanery and Dayton Wade of Britton-Hecla; Kolten Kirby, Miram Knoble, Cole Nafziger, Peter Rausch, Shad Sharp, Aaron Smith and Autumn Wieseler of Potter County; Jacob Nierman and Ben Kulesa of Ipswich/Edmunds Central; and Zack Jones of Warner.
Class 9B honorees were Braeden Peery and Cade Currier of Sully Buttes; Peyton Nelson and Grant Hamilton of Hitchcock-Tulare; Tyler Ogle of Faulkton; and Caleb Shentzel, Gavin Bohl and Zach Toennies of Northwestern.
