The first annual Spink Area Rural Support Summit will be held on March 14th at the Redfield High School from 9a.m. to 4p.m. Registration is only $10.

The summit will feature Ty Eschenbaum as the keynote speaker.  Mylo Hatzenbuehler, the Strasburg Superstar, will provide the entertainment over lunch. Lunch will be catered by Auntie Mimi’s, a farm to table caterer. The Summit will also feature presentations from Becky Harstad, Whetstone Commodities; Jack Davis, Ag Business Management, SDSU Extension; Audrey Rider, Family Dynamics, SDSU Extension; and Laura Edwards, State Climatologist, SDSU. The day will then end with a discussion from the Avera Farm Helpline with focus around agricultural mental health and well-being.

“We are thrilled to bring this amazing opportunity to our rural, agricultural communities in Spink and the surrounding counties,” said Spink Area Support Network member, Chessa Quenzer. “Not only will attendees be able to gain expert insight into agricultural topics, but they will also be able to support and network with others in this field.  The Summit will also feature a licensed mental health counselor who will be available throughout the day to speak with any attendees that need support.”

Sponsors and vendors are also encouraged to partner with Spink Area Support Network at the Summit to show all the wonderful services available in the region.  The registration, sponsor flyer, and event flyer is available on the Spink Area Rural Support Summit Facebook event page and www.spinkcountycoalition.com.
