Erik G. Murray, 41, of Redfield, SD passed away Sunday, April 24, 2022, at home with family by his side. Following Erik’s families, wishes he will be cremated with no formal services held. Burial will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Frankfort, SD at a later date. Hyke Funeral Home of Redfield has been entrusted with arrangements. (www.hykefuneralhome.com)
Erik was born on March 17, 1941, in Rapid City, SD to Dennis and Karen (Kristofferson) Murray. Erik attended school in Rapid City, Custer, SD, and graduated from Redfield in 2001. He was associated with Aspire in Aberdeen, SD.
Erik loved listening to country music on his iPod. He had over 6000 songs on his iPod. He also loved Vikings football, NASCAR racing, bowling, and participated in Special Olympics.
He is survived by his mother Karen Murray of Redfield; and brothers: Chad (Rebecca) Murray and their children Jordan, Verah, Ozzie, Aubree and Levi of Olathe, KS; and Jason Murray and his children Taylor, Camden and Dylan of Redfield.
Erik was preceded in death by his father Dennis D. Murray and maternal and paternal grandparents.
