Dianna Mae (Hagstrom) Clausen, 80, of Redfield, SD, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2019, at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield. Mass of Christian Burial was 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Redfield. Reverend Tom Anderson will officiate. Interment followed at St. Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery in Redfield.
Visitation was Friday, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., at Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield. A Prayer Service began at 7:00 p.m. Arrangements were entrusted to Hyke Funeral Home (www.hykefuneralhome.com).
Dianna Mae Hagstrom was born July 25, 1938 in Turton, SD to Olaf and Barbara (Schneider) Hagstrom. She grew up in Turton with her parents and siblings and attended elementary school in Turton. In 1957, she graduated from Doland High School.
On June 8, 1957, Dianna married Ronald Clausen at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Doland, SD. During their marriage, they lived in Clark and Conde, SD, and California before settling in Redfield, SD. Dianna was a busy homemaker and worked as a book keeper at Clausen Dray Service.
Dianna’s family is not sure anyone had a social calendar busier than hers. She loved serving through the Altar Society at St. Bernard Catholic Church, working on election days and at the SD State Fair. She enjoyed watching her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports, going camping and traveling. Going to concerts, plays, Red Hat Society functions, playing cards and casino trips with friends were all things she enjoyed. Gardening and her annual “mother/daughter” trip were a yearly highlight. Everyone who knew her loved her great sense of humor and sass.
She is survived by nine children: Rhonda (Les) Hintz of Hazen, ND; Debbie (Rick) Shaw, Vicky (Scott) Haskell, Kay (Jeff) O’Daniel, Darla Severance (Gary), Gene (Darla) Clausen all of Redfield, SD; Dawn (Mike) Grubb of Great Falls, MT; Bobby Clausen of Crystal, MN; and Billie Jo (Jay) Groskreutz of Great Falls, MT. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren and her siblings: Alice (Richard) Battest and Mavis Irwin.
Dianna was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald, in 2005; parents; siblings: Clarence Hagstrom, Lawrence Hagstrom, Edward Hagstrom, Grace Hagstrom, Donna Schmidt, and Donna Hagstrom as well as brothers-in-law: Herman Schmidt and Jim Irwin.
