The funeral processional for Dale Jones, a 47-year-old tow truck operator, made it’s way through Redfield at 2:10 p.m. on Thursday, January 9th.
Jones passed away as the result of an accident that occurred on Saturday morning, January 4th, at 8 a.m. in Watertown. A man lost control of his car and struck Jones, who was killed at the scene where he had been removing another vehicle from a ditch.
Numerous people lined up their vehicles, including many tow trucks, in the procession on Thursday that traveled all the way to Wessington. While passing through Redfield, the tow trucks all honked their horns in honor of Jones. The Redfield Fire Department also payed their respects by raising the fire department’s flag over 7th Avenue as the procession went by.
