Deborah Ann Ekstrom (Dawson), age 74, of Enumclaw, Washington passed away on January 10, 2023, at home surrounded by family.
Debbie was born September 17, 1948, to Dean and Gloria (Phillips) Dawson in Huron, South Dakota. She grew up on the family farm in South Dakota and graduated from Northwestern High School in 1966. After attending Northern State College Debbie began work for the Federal Government, retiring from the Social Security Administration in 2003 after 36 years of service.
Debbie married Richard Ekstrom on June 17, 1995, and they made their home in Enumclaw, Washington. Debbie loved to travel and made numerous trips including vacations to Hawaii, Mexico, Europe and throughout the United States. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, photography and the theater. But what was most important was the time she had with her family.
Debbie was an active member of Hope Lutheran Church in Enumclaw; she also enjoyed the several years of volunteer work with Plateau Outreach Ministries in Enumclaw.
Debbie is survived by her daughter Renee (George) Lombard of Maple Valley; grandchildren Emily and Dawson Lombard of Maple Valley; sister Deanna (Keith) Tubandt of Berryville, Virginia and numerous other family members.

There will be a Celebration of Life on February 4, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Hope Lutheran Church in Enumclaw, WA, all who knew her are welcomed to attend Debbie’s celebration of life.
