Clairice Robinson, 87, of Frankfort, SD, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 1, 2022, at Avantara-Redfield in Redfield, SD. 

Visitation will be Friday, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., at Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield with a Prayer Service and Rosary at 8:00 p.m.  Family will be present during this time to accept condolences. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Redfield. Reverend Fr. John Short will officiate. The funeral will be live-streamed to the funeral home’s website, below Clairice’s obituary.

 Interment will be at St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery in Frankfort.   Lunch and fellowship will follow at the Frankfort Firehall.

Clairice Cecelia Fortin was born September 20, 1934, in Turton, SD to Lester and Corrine (LaBrie) Fortin. 

On June 15, 1955, Clairice married Steve Robinson in Doland, SD.  They made their home in rural Frankfort before moving into the town of Frankfort where they resided until their deaths. 

Clairice was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Frankfort before its closing and then St. Bernard Catholic Church in Redfield.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Playing cards with friends and relatives, bowling, and trips to the casino were her favorite hobbies.  She was a very hard worker who will be remembered for her kind, and outgoing personality but most importantly, the deep love she had for her family. She did enjoy drinking a Mike’s Black Cherry Hard Lemonade on her front deck with her friends and family.    

Grateful for having shared her life are her sons:  Bob (Sheryl) Robinson of Frankfort and Roger (Pam) Robinson of Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren:  Nathan (Krista) Robinson of Huron, SD, and their children Kaylie, Zayde, and Avyn; Angela (Fiance Kevin Olson, and his daughter Jessa) Robinson of White, SD; Brandon (Friend Kathleen Ruesink, and her sons, Brentley and Rory) Robinson of Frankfort; Ryan (fiance Pam Muelebroeck) Sundal, of Brandon, SD; and Eric Sundal of Los Angeles, CA.  She is also survived by brothers:  Maynard Fortin of Aberdeen, SD; Ronnie (PL) Fortin of Glendale, AZ; Delmar (Lillie Danforth) Fortin of Springdale, AR; Keith (Betty) Fortin of White Bear Lake, MN; Darwin (Linda Lorch) Fortin of St. Paul, MN; Donnie Fortin of Watertown, SD and Larry Fortin of Redfield; sisters:  Darlene  Zens of Faulkton, SD and Shirley Sheridan of Redfield, her sisters-in-law:  Lucille Liebieg of Redfield; Josephine Harris of Chamberlain, SD; Florence Hinker of Belle Fourche, SD; Denise (Daryl) Taylor of Cumming, IA; and Sharon (Sheldon) Osborn of Redfield; brothers-in-law:  Sylvester (Kay) Robinson of Redfield and Lawrence Robinson of Frankfort; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Steve Robinson; parents Lester and Corrine Fortin; parents-in-law Lorraine and Mayme Robinson; brothers:  Lyle (Arlene) Fortin, twin brother Claire Fortin and sister Marvis and her husbands: Keith  Hardesty & Leland Des Coteaux; her brother-in-law: Russ Sheridan, Charles (Mary) Hurst, Bill Liebig, Bill (Bea) Hixon, Dick Harris, Joe Hinker; sisters-in-law, Betty Fortin and Joyce Fortin; and some nieces and nephews.
