Caden Jacob Miller entered the world on May 11, 2004.  He was born in Aberdeen, SD to Jacob Miller and Kristin (Dorris) VanBuskirk.  He was baptized and confirmed at the Hitchcock United Methodist Church.  He attended both the United Methodist Church in Hitchcock, SD and the Tulare United Church in Tulare, SD and was active in Youth Group.

Caden attended Hitchcock-Tulare High School and was about to start his sophomore year.  He was active in soccer, football, basketball, baseball, track, FFA, band, and choir.  His science fair team placed third last year.  When he was younger, Caden was a Cub Scout for three years.

Caden was a jokester who loved to play pranks just to put a smile on someone’s face.  He always had a smile himself and always put others first.  Caden loved athletics, playing video games, and spending time with family and friends.  He loved hunting and fishing and spent any spare time helping on the family farm.  He will always be remembered for his deep love for all his siblings.

Honoring Caden’s generous wish, the gift of life was shared with many people in need through organ and tissue donation.

Grateful for sharing Caden’s life are his parents:  Kristin & Patrick VanBuskirk of Hitchcock and Jacob & Mandy Miller of Tulare; sisters:  Karter Miller of Hitchcock; and Sydney Maynard of Tulare; brothers:  Sawyer Miller of Hitchcock; Carson VanBuskirk of Hitchcock; Jackson Maynard of Tulare; and Patrick Maynard of Tulare.  He is also survived by his grandparents:  Karen (Lance Peterson) Dorris of Hitchcock; Don & Peggy Dorris of Tulare; Rick & Julie Miller of Hitchcock; Merlyn & Judy VanBuskirk of Hitchcock; Dale & Gail Duenwald of Hoven, SD; as well as great-grandparents Larry & Bev Gordon of Hitchcock; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
