Beverly Bessie Olson

1927-2022

 

   Our Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Auntie passed away quietly at the age of 94 from natural causes on October 28, 2022.  Born in Redfield, SD, She was the youngest child of James and Bessie Benning. She joined a family of five brothers. Beverly was joined in Marriage to Wallice Olson in Burdett, SD on December 24, 1946.

    Beverly was known to all for her outstanding sense of humor and her given ability to make friends wherever she went. Above all she enjoyed playing cards. She came from a family of card players where the first thing set up at family get-to-gathers was the card tables. She and her husband Wally were also avid and good poker players. 

   Beverly mastered nearly every handicraft from knitting to quilting and crocheting to upholstery. She also assisted her Husband Wally with wood finishing and painting as they built and restored several homes in various cities where they lived. She did all this while working full time as an executive assistant, secretary, clerk and other jobs she held in cities where her husband’s work took them

   Beverly decided in her retirement years that it was time she learned how to use a computer. She went full blast learning all she could to become proficient and comfortable with computer use.

Beverly, using her computer will be remembered in her later years for checking on and keeping all family members on both sides of the family up-to-date and informed.

  In 1988 Beverly and Wally retired to the Phoenix, AZ area. In 1998 they elected to move to Las Vegas, NV joining their daughter Charleen and her family. Within a few years their son Barry joined the family in Las Vegas

   Beverly was preceded in death by her husband Wallice, their son Barry Olson, grandson, Matthew Boehler, parents James and Bessie Benning, brothers and their spouses, George (Bea) Benning, Russell (Betty) Benning, Jerry (Avis) Benning, Daryl (Marge) Benning and Stuart (Dolores) Benning.

   She is survived by daughter Charleen (Larry) Boehler, grandsons, Michale (Jennifer) Boehler, Mitchel Boehler, great grandchildren, Dakota Boehler, Dalton Boehler and Darby Boehler, along with many nieces and nephews.

   Beverly’s Remains will be interned December 22nd in a quiet ceremony with her immediate family, she will be placed along with Her Husband Wallice Olson in the Columbarium at the National Veterans Cemetery located in Boulder City, NV.
